Saudi Arabia duty free
The following items may be imported into Saudi Arabia by individuals over 18 years old without incurring customs duty:
• 200 cigarettes or 500g of other tobacco products.
Personal items and gifts may be imported duty-free up to the equivalent of SR 3,000.
Please note that alcohol is strictly prohibited, and electronic devices may be checked by customs officials. It is also wise to remove risqué images from your devices.
Medication must be accompanied by a prescription from your doctor detailing the purpose and usage. You should also carry the necessary quantity. Herbal products are not allowed.
Prohibited Imports
Prohibited imports include alcohol (and alcohol-related products), narcotics, religious books, anti-Islamic materials, gambling devices, pornographic materials, Israeli shekel, weapons and ammunition.
Food items are also banned, although adequately packaged and sealed nuts and sweets in small amounts may be allowed – it is up to the officers to decide.
Prohibited Exports
Banned exports include wheat, barley and other grains.
Restricted exports include seeds, animal leather, bottled water, and food products.
