Norway duty free

Norway's duty-free allowance for travellers arriving from the EU/EEA or other Nordic countries:

If you are arriving from another EEA or Nordic country, you can bring goods for personal use without paying duty or tax within the following limits:
• 200 cigarettes or 250g of other tobacco products.
• Alcohol: 1L of spirits (22–60%), 1.5L of wine (up to 22%), and 2L of beer or other beverages over 2.5% alcohol by volume. You may exchange one type of alcohol for another as long as the total duty-free limit is not exceeded.

Norway's duty-free allowance for travellers arriving from outside the EU/EEA:

If you are arriving from a non-EEA country, you may bring in goods for personal use within the following duty-free limits:
• 200 cigarettes or 250g of tobacco.
• 1L of spirits (22–60%), 1.5L of wine (up to 22%), and 2L of beer or other beverages over 2.5% alcohol by volume.
• Other goods up to a total value of NOK 6,000 for travellers staying less than 24 hours abroad, or NOK 3,000 for stays under 24 hours.

Travellers under 18 years old, regardless of whether they arrive from within or outside the EU/EEA, cannot bring in tobacco products, and travellers under 20 years old cannot bring in alcohol.

Prohibited Imports

Prohibited items include meat and dairy products from outside the EEA, narcotics, counterfeit goods, and certain foodstuffs and biological materials. The following goods are not permitted without special authorisation: medicines (other than personal prescription drugs), spirits over 60% alcohol by volume, weapons and ammunition, fireworks, potatoes, mammals, birds, exotic animals, and plants or plant parts. New forms of tobacco and nicotine products that are not approved for import or sale in Norway, such as nicotine pouches (without tobacco), heated tobacco products (HTP/Iqos with Heets sticks), and hookah tobacco, are also prohibited. This list is not exhaustive. Travellers should consult Norwegian Customs or the Norwegian Food Safety Authority for the most up-to-date information.

Prohibited Exports

Prohibited exports include endangered species and their derivatives, cultural artefacts of historical value without authorisation, and narcotic or psychotropic substances. Firearms, ammunition, and military equipment require export licences. This list is not exhaustive. Travellers should consult Norwegian Customs or the nearest Norwegian embassy or consulate for current export restrictions.
